Krista’s life long passion has been and is creating, whether the form be painting, drawing, writing, dancing, clay or music.
She began her career in the Decorative Arts as an independent contractor to several other artists in the Denver area while pursuing her Bachelor’s of Fine Art, emphasizing in painting. Five years later she found Diseño, Inc in 2006 to provide decorative concrete applications, specialty paint finishes and custom artwork for residential and commercial clients. In May of 2010 Diseño became Shiner Studios to exemplify the difference in the contracting world as an artist first and an artisan second.
With more than 11 years experience in the Decorative Arts, extensive art education, professional training in and outside of her industries, knowledge of creative trends, and the use of cutting-edge products or techniques she is able to transform a space into a work of art. Her approach leans into the spiritual realm, intertwining the emotional depths of color and texture with cultural and architectural styles to create a sacred space in which the client’s vision is brought to life. She has worked with private and corporate clients that include homeowners, luxury real estate developers and commercial entities such as restaurants, boutiques and bars. For each project, she deftly translates her client’s vision and aesthetic hopes into a wholly unique and elegant treatment. Because of the specialized nature of the process, she often collaborates directly with other artists, designers and architects to ensure that all elements of the space are created in harmony.
Krista continues creating artwork, most specifically paintings, a direction that is flourishing and what guided her into the realm of Decorative Arts from the beginning. She has focused much of her attention in the custom design and installation industry foremost during her career yet is putting forth an equal amount of energy into new artwork the last three years. She continues to augment her business with focus on client service, professional and artistic training and education, extensive research, coursework and experimentation developing her own techniques to offer an innovative approach in the restoration of homes or businesses.
Krista’s current and future plans involve a desire to bridge the realm of her her artwork with commissioned projects that best exemplify her capabilities as an artist. Her goals are vast and ever expanding with her passion of nature and all of it’s inhabitants fueling her endeavors. Her desire is to create eco-conscious, healing designs and installations that incorporate the talents of other artists in multiple disciplines to offer truly special projects for all who encounter them to enjoy. Much of her personal plans involve traveling the world, painting & creating, teaching, and volunteering. All of which to bridge her expanding creative capacity with her business for the efforts of organizations focused on humanitarian, ecological and environmental efforts striving to be an advocate for the unheard voices of the earth.
